Newfoundland Dog:friend,pet,worker,the best pal ever! The Newfoundland is a working dog. Newfoundlands can be black,brown, black and white or the exceedingly rare gray. They were originally bred and used as a working dog for fishermen in Dominion of Newfoundland which is now a part of Canada. They are known for their giant size, intelligence, tremendous strength, calm dispositions, and loyalty. Newfoundland dogs excel at water rescue, life saving because if their muscular build, thick double coat, webbed feet, and innate swimming abilities. Their coat is also water-resistant. Males normally weigh 60-70 kg 130-150pounds, Females 45-55 kg to 100-120 pounds, placing them in the Giant weight range. They may grow up to 22-28 inches,or 55-71 cm tall at the shoulder.
